Piercing Aftercare
● Wash your hands before cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason
● Do not touch your piercing for the healing period unless cleaning it.
● Clean twice a day using fresh saline solution, ¼ teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of water. You might need to use clean cotton wool bud or ball of cotton wool to do this, for ease.
● Rinse the piercing after cleaning to remove any residue left over from cleaning.
● Pat dry with a disposable paper towel and dispose of.
You do not need to twist and turn your piercing during the cleaning / healing stage but you can move it back and forth to clean it properly.
What’s normal for my new piercing?
At the beginning you may experience some bleeding from the piercing site, soreness, swelling and bruising may also occur.
During healing you may experience minor discolouration and itching from the skin around the site, a whitish-yellow liquid (not puss) may come from the piercing and form a crust around the jewellery, clean this off as you do your daily cleaning.
Your piercing may seem healed but please continue to clean it throughout the healing period as they heal from the outside in, so the inner of the piercing may be fragile.
Even healed piercings can shrink and heal up very quickly, please be aware of this when changing or leaving jewellery out for any period of time, if in doubt I offer jewellery changing for £5.
With piercings such as nipple or belly, be careful of clothes catching / rubbing on your new piercing.
